About the role:

 

We are seeking an experienced and driven Site Manager to join our Newcastle Construction Team, supporting the successful delivery of a range of residential Class 1 construction projects. Initially working on a over 55's project, currenlty in construction at Blueys Beach. This role is responsible for end‑to‑end management of on‑site construction activities, ensuring each project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and workmanship. You will be competent to work autonomously across a large geographic footprint, working with customers, contractors and suppliers to deliver of all types of class 1 & 1a buildings to support Rawson Group's portfolio of medium‑density developments, contract-built homes, B2B and SPEC home projects. 

 

As a Site Manager, you will coordinate and supervise all site operations, manage subcontractors and suppliers, monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with WHS requirements, building codes, and company standards. You will play a critical role in driving productivity, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, and proactively addressing risks or issues to ensure seamless project delivery. Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Be responsible for controlling and leading the onsite teams, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Meet building schedules, attend construction meetings and ensure quality across multiple class 1 homes
  • Ensure the day-to-day operations on-site run smoothly & safely 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Issue directives to correct defective works and ensure stop payment of Vendor is in place until resolved
  • Ensure that work is planned and executed according to the established timelines
  • Proactively resolving build issues, liaising with your clients
  • Liaise closely with the client ensuring project runs to program
  • Ensure that a high standard of finish is achieved on all Homes and defect free at handover
  • Complete regular quality assurance inspections and report findings
  • Ensure all work is performed to the highest standard, and adheres to company policies and procedures and industry regulations
  • Ensure high standards of WHS compliance on site including toolbox talks, site inspections and reporting near miss incidents
  • Comply with responsibilities under the current Work Health and Safety legislation.

 

 

About You:

 

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a building supervisor (5+ years as a site manager in multi residential construction preferred)
  • Trade background (preferred)
  • Industry experience with significant exposure to trades, suppliers and clients
  • General Construction Induction course / White card (mandatory)
  • Current First Aid training
  • Silica awareness training 
  • Hold a valid Australian driver's licence (mandatory)
  • Ability to communicate professionally
  • A high level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to all tasks undertaken
  • Problem solving and working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of WHS requirements and conflict resolution skills.
