About the role:

 

We are seeking a motivated Cost Planner to join our Operations Team to assist in the financial cost effectiveness of residential projects including, Business to Business (B2B), Medium density and retirement living class one buildings. This unique role provides support throughout the complete lifecycle to proactively manage accurate cost control principals for value optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct detailed cost planning and budgeting, assist in negotiations with sub-contractors and suppliers to achieve cost effective results
  • lead the preparation of tender documents including detailed BOQs and pricing breakdowns for all elements within all scopes
  • Provide cost comparisons for design elements to support cost effective decision-making to align with project budgets
  • Collaborate with project team members to track committed costs against budgeted allowances and report updates to stakeholders
  • Continuously assess opportunities for cost savings and identify commercial risks across the lifecycle of the project
  • Consult and work cross-functionally with internal teams and senior leadership to provide recommendations for financial improvements
  • Communicate with Suppliers, Subcontractors and Project teams to manage ETS and source new opportunities for procurement teams

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor of Construction management or Quantity surveying
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in residential construction projects with a focus on ETS, sustainability or cost management
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and completing root cause analysis of costs and reporting
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability practices and technical services management within the residential building sector
  • Strong understanding of carbon pricing, ETS regulations, safety in design and WHS principals
