About the role:

 

 

Join the Rawson Group as an Estimating Manager – Contract and Spec Homes. Lead our team of estimators and drive excellence in budgeting, estimation assurance, and technical solutions throughout the project and planning lifecycle. This is a key leadership role focused on delivering commercially competitive outcomes and continuous process improvement. You will be part of the change that Rawson Group bring, ensuring new homes and projects are budgeted and planned to be delivered efficiently for our customers, families and communities. Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead our team of estimators to ensure consistent and quality estimating costs across Contract and Spec homes
  • Develop, implement and maintain the estimating management plans to support the Rawson Group estimating strategy
  • Ensure all Contract and Spec homes are estimated and budgeted to the expected standards
  • Provide technical advice and solutions to ensure estimates and costs are based on value, quality and consistency
  • Provide coaching and mentor the team of estimators to upskill and share knowledge to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Prepare BOQ's and tender documents to align with Rawson Group's commercial processes
  • Review budget margins and monitor completion of milestones to identify improvements to inform future projects 
  • Manage annual planning including participation of high-level costing and report on all required resources  

 

About You:

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualifications in Building, Engineering, relevant discipline or equivalent
  • 10 years experience in a similar role with exposure to residential (house) construction
  • Proven ability to manage a team and deliver a diverse range of estimating and cost control services preferably in a construction environment 
  • Sound knowledge in the application of risk mitigation across project and asset management lifecycles with cost planning 

 

Skills & attributes:

  • Proven planning and managerial skills to manage a team effectively and efficiently 
  • A high level of influence and negotiation skills with internal and external teams
  • A problem solver who can communicate well to the wider team to coach and train 
  • Strong ability to foster relationships across business functions and promote teamwork 
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise workload and schedules to meet targets
